Holiday Prep - Simplified

Thanksgiving is this month and Christmas is next month! The Holidays are here!

This is my favorite time of the year, yet we can be so stressed during this time. I am going to share with you a very simple plan that will help you create the holiday season you really want!

I have created a free printable HERE that you can print to help you with these simple steps.

  1. Look ahead. If you prefer pen and paper (like I do), download and print out a calendar (linked above) to look ahead at the next 2 months. You can reference back to this or take a photo of it when you’re done and toss it. Put all upcoming events on this calendar.

  2. Make a list of the things you WANT to do. If we don’t schedule them, they won’t happen!

  3. Make a list of anyone you need to purchase a gift for. Create your budget for your gift list and divide that out as to how you want to spend it.
I keep this list on my phone. I put notes when I have ideas. And then I put what I’ve bought, how much I’ve spent. If it’s for my kids, I’ve started adding where I have hidden this item. (Because yeah, I’ve hidden things really well before and had to search pretty hard to find them!)

  4. Now look at those events you have on your calendar. What events do you have to prepare for? This might be a Christmas party where you’re bringing a gift all the way up to hosting Thanksgiving dinner. For each of these events, write down your action items. What is your budget for these? Party appetizers and hostess gifts can start to add up!

  5. Now prioritize what needs to happen now. What can you do ahead of time? What can you get done early on so you can really enjoy this holiday season?

There are several things I like to do ahead of time so I can really enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas. What are your favorite things to check off the list?
